At Filtration and Separation IP, Inc. (FAST IP, Inc.) our enthusiasm for changing the world through filtration started with our founder Scott Yaeger. He envisioned a world where filtration and separation offered alternative solutions to products and situations that cause harm to the world around us. In 2004 Scott created Filtration and Separation Technology LLC (FAST LLC) and used his 40 plus years of knowledge and innovation to become the key consultant to many Fortune 500 companies. His goal was and is to provide companies with new ideas and solutions to problems that filtration can help solve. With this in mind he divided the company and created Filtration and Separation Technology Consulting, LLC and included a research and development department that took our mission to change the world a step further. In 2014 Scott created and formed Filtration and Separation IP, Inc. (FAST IP, Inc.) for the creative innovations he had developed and was granted three patents for a fully welded, a dual tangential flow, and a pleated and tapered spiral element designs. At FAST IP, Inc. Scott’s founding belief continues to drive our company toward a new tomorrow where filtration and separation is a key to changing our world.
Granted US, Europe, Canada, Japan, Korea, China and India
A fully welded spiral element design for use with a wide variety of membranes including but not limited to ePTFE, PVdF, PS, PES, PP, PE, Nylon, TFC, etc. with a wide variety of materials of construction including but not limited to PFA, FEP, ECTFE, PVdF, PP, PE, Nylon, PET, PBT, etc. This novel design allows for the use of radically different leaf configuration that can economically provide spiral elements with up to 10X the permeate capability of standard designs.
Capable of reverse flow cleaning from the permeate side with more aggressive cleaners due to improved chemical and thermal compatibility.
Compatible with higher temperatures up to 180°C and extreme chemical resistance up to pH 1 to 14.
Granted US, Canada, Europe, Japan, China. Pending Korea and India
A spiral element design that allows for efficient tangential flow on both the feed and permeate side of the membrane minimizing concentration and thermal polarization.
Applications include Osmotic Membrane Distillation, Sweeping Gas Membrane Distillation, Direct Contact Membrane Distillation and Forward Osmosis
Has the same chemical and thermal compatibility and reverse permeate flow cleaning as 8,454,829 B2 as it can be made using the fully welded design and materials.
Granted in the US and pending in Canada, Europe, Japan, China, Korea and India
A spiral element design where the leaf length on the feed side is longer than the leaf length on the retentate side reducing the feed space in proportion to the permeate rate. This allows for the feed side velocity to remain approximately constant even with very high permeate recovery rates up to 90% of the feed flow rate.
Extends membrane life with very high recovery rates achieved with the element design allowed from patent 8,454,829 B2
Has the same chemical and thermal compatibility and reverse permeate flow cleaning capability as 8,454,829 B2 as it can be made using the fully welded design and materials.
